Whole30 Troubleshooting

The last time I did a round of Whole30 I felt worse than when I started. How can that be? I’m an Advanced level Coach with almost 4 years of experience so what gives? Well through my food detective skills I journaled what I ate more of and how that could have left me feeling puffy and dealing with digestive issues. My conclusion was more eggs and nightshades (peppers, tomatoes and potatoes) than normal. Once I cut those out I felt great again.

There are other issues you might want to explore if you didn’t get the results you were hoping for. Those results could be weight loss, clearing inflammation, joint pain, clear skin etc.

As a reminder, here are the Non Scale Victories most people get at the end of their reset.

Non Scale Victories

Now the questions to ask…

  1. Are you eating more nightshades than normal?

  2. Are you increasing high FODMAP foods like garlic and onions?

  3. Did you over indulge in nuts and nut butters?

  4. Did you over do it on fruit?

  5. Are you eating more eggs than normal and are you seeing a pattern after you eat them?

Sometimes it just takes digging deeper to figure out what is going on. I do find that women in their mid to late 50’s seem to have more food sensitivities and a harder time losing weight. This is where working with a Coach can really help you.
