Kitchen tools for Salads

I’m sure you have heard how important it is to have great knives in your kitchen. Is it an investment- yes! But if you get a really great knife you will have it for years vs buying cheap ones that dull very quickly. I’ve listed some of my favorite ones below…plus other fun tools that make your salad prep a breeze.

My two favorite knives for chopping veggies are the Shun knives and the Global Classic knife. I literally use these every day, multiple times. I do handwash to keep them in tip top shape. Very sharp so be careful!

I also love a good mandolin but after cutting myself multiple times on my french authentic one, I had to move to the Pampered Chef version where your fingers do not go near the blade. While you are on their website, grab this chopper which I use to quickly chop small veggies and garlic for dressings. I’ve had mine for years!

My food processor quickly slices and shreds veggies as well. I often use this on meal prep days- and yes, I make a huge salad and multiple dressings each week. Really great for salads with cabbage.

For salad dressings I use these mason jars - simply shake and store in the jar. Easy! There are also plastic lids available if that is your preference. You can also use a prettier option like this to serve when company comes. I also like this drizzle spoon so you don’t accidentally pour too much.

And lastly…the perfect salad bowl to serve your amazing creations. I always use white so the colors of the vegetables take center stage. And don’t forget the tongs!

Just a few ideas to get you going. Using great tools really makes prep easier and using beautiful pieces to serve makes you enjoy the creations even more.
